BIO

Linda Agaby is a lawyer within the Emerging Technologies group at Fasken, with a focus on data protection, privacy and cybersecurity. She works with tech companies to draft privacy policies and agreements, and assists them with ensuring that their products and services comply with applicable data protection laws such as the GDPR. She also has experience with intellectual property law, having worked on issues concerning patents and trademarks.

She holds dual civil and common law degrees from McGill, and a Master of Laws with Distinction (LLM) in technology law from the University of Edinburgh. During her LLM, she studied current issues in data protection law, cybersecurity and online media. She studied issues such as the privacy and cybersecurity issues in the Internet of Things, legal and technical solutions to reduce bias in algorithmic decision-making systems, and regulating online media platforms.
